2017 Darden Lecture

Named for Dr. William Darden, professor emeritus and a former chair of UA’s Department of Biological Sciences, the Darden Lecture Series brings prominent biologists to campus to address environmental and humanitarian problems. Mrs. Ilouise Hill of Montgomery established the series to honor Darden, who was on the UA faculty for 31 years.

This year’s Darden Lecture will be given by Dr. Emeran Mayer, M.D.,Ph.D. Dr. Mayer is a Professor in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Executive Director of the G. Oppenheimer Center for Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience, Co-Director of the CURE:Digestive Diseases Research Center, a member of Steering Committee for the UcLA Microbiome Center, and author of the book The Mind-Gut Connection.
