
Major and Minor Programs
The Department of Biological Sciences offers the following programs for undergraduates:
- B.S. in Biology
- B.S. in Microbiology
- B.S. in Marine Science
- Double major in Biology / Marine Science
- Minor in Biology and Microbiology
- Minor in Natural Resources Management (interdisciplinary)
- Minor in Evolutionary Studies (interdisciplinary)
- Minor in Neurobiology (interdisciplinary)
The Department of Biological Sciences also offers an honors program for biology and microbiology majors. Required and elective coursework includes both lecture classes and laboratory experience.
Undergraduate Research
Undergraduates may also receive course credit for undergraduate research, in which students participate in basic research projects directed by a faculty member. Information about opportunities for undergraduate research can be found by contacting individual faculty members in the student’s field of interest, and through the University’s Undergraduate Research website.
