Red-cockaded woodpecker research featured at Alabama Museum of Natural History

An exhibit at the Alabama Museum of Natural History about Alabama state symbols features research conducted by Dr. Paige Ferguson and her graduate student Franco Gigliotti. Their research examined the influence of habitat management on food availability for the red-cockaded woodpecker.  The museum exhibit also features a paper they recently published that reviewed the effectiveness of different conservation methods across the red-cockaded woodpecker’s range.
